Laura A. Rizzo M.A.-Founder/Artisitc Director Yonkers & NYC Locations

Laura A. Rizzo is  a graduate of Bard College, with a degree in drama/dance, and a master's degree in Educational Theater and Dance from New York University. She is a certified NJ Speech and Dramatics Teacher, and NJ certified Vocational Dance Teacher who has taught in the public schools for over 9 years and the private sector for more then 20 years. Ms. Rizzo has performed both on and off-Broadway, and has been directing and choreographing shows for children for the past 25 years. She is an award-winning choreographer for dance competition teams and award winning director for children's theater companies throughout the United States. She is currently the Founder/Artistic Director of Rising Stars PAC in Yonkers, New York. In addition she is currently studying ESL as a Doctoral Candidate at Northcentral University. She is also a Speech and English Professor at a TCI College of Technology in New York City .She most recently Directed and Choreographed Sweet Charity off-Broadway at the Roy Arius Theater in New York with Quest Theatre Company, in which she recently won best youth theater Muscial Production of the year . Ms Rizzo has also won  teacher of the year award numerous times. To date Ms Rizzo has directed over 130 shows for children. Some of her Favorites include: Newsies, Once on This Island, Arsenic and Old Lace, Rent,Godspell and 13 & Wonderland.

Warren Scott Friedman -Musical Theatre Teacher/Director/Choreographer NYC

 

 

Warren Scott- Friedman has worked as a professional Director, Choreographer, Musical Theatre Instructor and Private Musical Theatre Coach at Performing Arts Camps & Organizations, NYC Afterschool & Weekend Programs, School Residencies, Colleges, Community Theatres, TYA Tours, Summer Stock Theatres, Regional Theatres, Off Off Broadway and Children’s Theatre Companies around the country since 1986. Warren has also been an AEA Stage Manager and Company Manager since 1989 and 1987 working on National Tours, European Tours, Off Broadway, Regional Theatres, Summer Stock Theatres, Children’s Theatres, Community Theatres, Cruise Lines and Industrials. Warren was also a Production Assistant on 3 Broadway  Shows. Some of Warren’s most recent productions include: Director for the (High School Version) and the Regular Version of RENT, Director/Choreographer for several productions of SEUSSICAL , Choreographer for PETER PAN, Director for several productions of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL,Co Director/Choreographer for GREASE, Director/Choreographer for CINDERELLA, Director/Choreographer for OKLAHOMA JR., Director/ Choreographer for several productions of ANNIE. Warren is a Union Member of Actors Equity Association (AEA), an Associate Union Member of Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers (SDC) , a Member of American Association of Community Theatres (AACT) and a Member of the Stage Managers Association (SMA)



Michelle DeAngelis- Youth Theatre Musical Director Yonkers

Michelle DeAngelis is a accomplished pianist, singer and songwriter. She is a graduate of the conservatory of music at SUNY Purchase with a B.A in Studio Composition.  Michelle has preformed at many clubs such as The Bitter End, CBGB's, The Triad Theater, Downtime, Tribecca Blues and Don't Tell Mamma's. Michelle also has had the opportunity to perform all over Europe.  Her original music has been featured on local radio, internet radio, and television stations. Her song, "With The Angels" written for 9/11, was featured on two documentary DVD's. She was honored with a plaque and a letter of gratitude from the NYC Fire Commissioner. One of Michelle's works, entitled "Lady" was preformed by artist Anthony Rodriguez( former Madonna Dancer and choreographer for major pop artists) for the president of Turkey.  A Few of Michelle's past credits as a Musical Director/Pianist/Conductor include Les Miz,Into the Woods, Peter Pan, Suessical( Westchester Broadway Theater) Songs for a New World,Oliver, Bye Bye Birdie, Heart and Music, Children of Eden, West Side Story, Big River, Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Forum, Spitfire Grill, and 13.  In addition, Michelle is an accompanist for choirs and solo artists as well as being a church organist. You can hear Michelle sing and play every week at Croton Creek in Croton Falls, NY.

 



Justin Turner -Hip-Hop Teacher Yonkers & NYC Location

My name is Justin 'Snackz' Turner I was born in the Bronx on August 10th 1991.Currently I live in Yonkers, New York. As far back as I can remember I've fallen in love with Hip Hop and R&B Music. I began dancing in the third grade and have been ever since. As I've got older I was influenced by many Bronx street performers which still encourages me today known as BBOYS .    I am a mastered performer, and teacher in various styles of Hip Hop Such as Pop-locking, Waving, Tutting, Electric Boogalo, Breakdancing, and have developed a passion for Hip Hop Choreography. As a Faculty Member I look forward to working with our Rising Star dancers, and would be proud to share my skills and wisdom of  dancing passing down the techniques and joy to another generation of  incoming Hip Hop dancers!



MaryRose Hannan - Ballet/Jazz/Acting Teacher Yonkers

 

Miss Hannan started dancing at age five studying ballet, jazz and modern at Westchester Ballet Center. She studied Shakespearean acting in high school and throughout college, where she was a member of their award-winning choir and Vice President of the Drama Club. MaryRose trained at HB Studios, NYC, and has appeared in multiple regional and dinner theater productions. Credits include: Lost In Yonkers (Bella), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), Little Something For Ducks (Irma), Rock 'Till You Drop (Kiki) and Hello Dolly (Ensemble). She is a graduate of St. Joseph's College, West Hartford, CT. Miss Hannan was also seen this past spring as Joanne in Vanities, a three woman show that toured throughout the tri-state area and was a huge success. She was also more recently seen on the dance/drama faculty at Arts Caravan for the past three years, in Katonah NY, and was on the Board of Directors for the Quest Theatre Company in Passaic, NJ. for the past four years.

Patrick Gambuti III -Sumer Musical Theatre Workshop- Asst.Program Director & Stage Manager Yonkers

 

Patrick Gambuti III is a junior at Muhlenberg College. He is studying theater and music with a vocal concentration. He is originally from Old Tappan, NJ.  Last summer Patrick performred Off-Broaday at the Roy Arias Theater with the Quest Theater Company's award winning production of Sweet Charity as Vittorio Vidal.He was very proud to have performed with such a stellar cast. This summer in addition to working with Rising Stars PAC he will be traveling to Italy for three months to study abroad. Other shows include “Beauty and the Beast”, “A Year with Frog and Toad”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Man of La Mancha”, “Sweet Charity”, (Herman).



Kristopher Allen Acting and Jazz & Hip-Hop Teacher NYC Location

Kristopher Allen A.K.A. KRIZ~AL is a born dancer who performed in his 1st recital at the age of 2.  By the time Kris reached High School he was teaching & choreographing for Dance Studios (Since1998).  While attending Orange County Community College, he continued developing his unique Hip Hop style.  He also has studied various styles of Martial Arts.  Kris has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 2004. He has appeared in many shows & films including the following Prime - film Racing Stripes – film Comedy Central’s David Chappelle Show -  season 1, NBC Sitcom – Ed,Soap Opera “WaterFront” Pilot, Blitz’s music video Choreographer & Performed 2004,Fame – Featured Opening Footage.  Kris has also Choreographed & Performed for MTV’s Reality Check “Truth Awards” in 2003 & 2004 live.  He can also be seen as a Dancer in the movie “Strangers with Candy” with Matthew Broderick, which was released in November 2005.   Kris also taught master dance class at Dance Competitions for 2 years consecutively and at other Dance Conventions. Quote from Kris “I enjoy teaching all ages but my favorite thing is to teach people how to feel the music

and let loose.” “My Favorite style to choreograph to is hip-hop to Dub Step music.’ 



 

Brittany Nicholas was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia  She started dancing at the age of 4, training in the styles of ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, pointe, hip hop, and modern. She's won numerous platinum awards, titles, scholarships, and overall high score awards at  regional and national competitions along the East Coast. At the age of 16 she was accepted in the summer program at the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Credits include: Billy Elliot on Broadway (Swing), Billy Elliot 1st National Tour (Swing), Billy Elliot Toronto (Dance Captain/ Swing), High School Musical, No No Nanette (Merry-go-round Playhouse),  and Here's Love (Fireside).  She most recently originated the role of Sasha Obama in the workshop of YES! The Musical, directed by Mercedes Ellington
